She walks through the streets of Oceina City alone. A foreigner to the country of the water dragons just as much as she is to the city full of technology she’d only every dreamed of. The skyscrapers were like art and they stretched to heights she didn’t think possible. She should have been taking it all in and yet her eyes remained downcast to the cute cobblestone sidewalk. Even then, she only looked through it, not at it.
All she could think about was him. Her sister’s fiance. The crown prince of Aero. Etz. There had been sparks between us, right? I know I was wrong to pursue him, but I didn’t imagine those did I?
The whole point of leave home was so she could detox him from her heart. She’d even gone so far as to use Alex as a supplement for the holes her prince left behind. It helped. A lot. She enjoyed Alex’s company more, they had more in common, and they fit so well together. But he didn’t fill the holes meant for Etz. And she didn’t fill the holes Alex would always have that were left behind by Tai. How is anyone supposed to fall in love again or move on when only one person seems to fit the bill? Why did love have to be so permanent?
